My name is Emma Wiest-Miller.
I'm a human-centered designer/researcher.

In my three years in UX, I've had the opportunity to build out a T-shaped skillset with deep roots in interaction design, design systems and qualitative UX research. I'm a generalist at heart, with experience across the entire UX process from discovery to delivery and a passion for diving into complex problems.

When I'm not designing, researching, or managing stakeholders, I am a full-time nerd. You can find me playing D&D, walking my dog, Poppy, or lying to my friends in social deduction games.

principles & philosophies

  1. Design for everyone

Accessible, inclusive solutions deserve the resources required to make them great. Excluding individuals from any digital space on the basis of ability is discrimination.

  2. Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate

With other designers, with researchers, with engineers, with business stakeholders, with end users, with anyone who will give you the time of day. Great things come from teams.

  3. Always ask why

Understanding the root problem is the key to a great solution, no matter how big or small. Approach each new finding with curiousity and always assume there's more you don't know.
